Login to CitySprint
Each year CitySprint presents awards to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the business. This year the Award winners were invited to a celebratory event hosted at CitySprint's London ServiceCentre in EC2. Patrick Gallagher, Managing Director, London led the celebrations with a tour of the facility and introduced the Award winners to key staff. This was followed by a three-course lunch, after which the winners were presented with their awards
The 2009 award winners were:
ServiceCentre of the Year 2009
The ServiceCentre of the Year award was presented to CitySprint's Cardiff ServiceCentre. Cardiff ServiceCentre Manager, Fabio Marini collected the award of behalf of the team. CitySprint has a network of over 30 ServiceCentres.
The Cardiff ServiceCentre was nominated for the award by CitySprint's Managing Director for the Regions, Ben Haynes, who explains "Despite the challenging economic conditions faced during 2009, our Cardiff ServiceCentre has continued to perform above average and has achieved year-on-year revenue growth of 27 per cent. This growth is testament to the drive, determination and commitment shown by Fabio and his team at the Cardiff ServiceCentre who have worked tirelessly to build upon the CitySprint brand, provide excellent customer service and win a significant number of new contracts both locally and nationally. I am delighted that the Cardiff ServiceCentre has received this award in recognition of its hard work and success"
Excellence award
The Excellence Award went to John Parker, Area Sales Executive, for the South Central region. John has been with CitySprint since December 2007 and was nominated by Chief Executive, Andrew Bernard. John received the award as he has consistently not only met, but exceeded his sales targets and is a highly valued member of the team.
John is an all-round team player and has helped support the business and his colleagues in a number of ways; notably by attracting more self-employed couriers and ensuring new ASEs have received comprehensive training. Essentially John goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Upon acceptance of the Awards John said: "I feel very honoured to have received this award, especially as there are so many capable people at CitySprint."
Courier of the Year
The Courier of the Year award went to Robert (Bobby) Edwards who operates out of CitySprint's Bristol ServiceCentre. Bobby has been a courier with CitySprint for many years and was nominated by Bristol ServiceCentre Manager Jackie Smart. Bobby was chosen for the award as he is a hardworking and reliable courier. He is seen as a considerable asset to the Bristol ServiceCentre and is a positive role model for his peers.
Regional Manager of the year award 2009
The Regional Manager of the Year award went to Martin Poole, Regional Manager for the Midlands Region. Martin joined the business in 2003 and was promoted to Midlands Regional Manager in 2007. Martin was nominated for the award by Managing Director for the Regions, Ben Haynes in recognition of his hard work and commitment to the business.
Martin is a rising star within CitySprint and has played an active role in the expansion of the regional business managing three acquisitions over the past 18 months. As his region expands, as does his role, all of which Martin takes in his stride.
When receiving the award Martin said: "I am really proud to have received this award. CitySprint has given me many opportunities since I joined. I have always done my best to embrace and maximise those opportunities; this award is testament to the fact that your hard work does not go unnoticed."
London Employee of the Year
The London Employee of the Year award was presented to Scott Davies, Fleet Operations Manager. Scott joined the business in 2003 and was nominated for the role by Am Pall, Fleet and Specialist Services Director. Scott was nominated for the award as, during his time at CitySprint, has developed into a capable manager who always strives to achieve the best for the Business and his colleagues. No job is ever too big or too small for Scott and he works tirelessly in his role.
Am Pall said: "Scott is a highly valued member of the team. The only issue I ever have with Scott is trying to convince him not to do too much! I am delighted we have his energies in our business."
Redhill Employee of the Year
The 2009 Redhill Employee of the Year award went to Clare Gore, Finance Department Supervisor. Clare has been with the business since 2003 and was nominated by Finance Director, Gerard Keenan. Clare was nominated for the award as she has shown herself to a reliable and hardworking member of the team.
Commenting on the award Gerard said: "Clare always shows a real commitment to the Company and, in particular, made a real effort to come into work during the recent bout of bad weather, ensuring her department continued to function as normal. This type of effort does not go unnoticed."
Clare said: "I thoroughly enjoy working at CitySprint and take great pride in the role I have here. It is nice to know that your effort and commitment are not only seen, but recognised as well."
In conclusion Chief Executive Andrew Bernard said "We have had a lengthy period of economic uncertainty and, therefore, I feel it is both appropriate and motivational to be able to recognise and reward the commitment and success which has been shown to us as a business. Despite the economic climate CitySprint continues to strive forwards and achieve impressive growth rates. This is made possible due to the commitment of our excellent staff, couriers and drivers; just a handful of whom have been recognised here today. On behalf of the Group as a whole I would like to thank all of the award winners for their support and look forward to yet another successful year."
